It’s a regular story. Every time Virat plays, his performance, whether it is good or bad, is invariably linked to Anushka Sharma and she becomes the target of stupid internet trolls and memes.
This time that Kohli lead the men in blue to a resounding victory in the latest World T20 match, the same thing happened. No sooner did people started pouring adulations and praise for the cricketer, did they started spewing venom against his girlfriend and actress Anushka Sharma.
Sharma was being thanked for not being present at the venue of the match and people were making fun of India’s good luck when she had made herself scarce from Kohli’s life. But this time, he was not having it. On Monday,
Kohli lashed out at the trolls and said that people who were trolling and targeting Sharma should be ashamed of themselves. Defending Sharma against trolls on social media, Kohli tweeted on Monday, “Shame on people for trolling @AnushkaSharma non-stop. Have some compassion. She has always only given me positivity”.
Kohli’s tweet was met with much applause and his fans supported and appreciated his stand. The tweet, which was posted on Monday afternoon has been retweeted over 3000 times within and was ‘favourited’ by over 5000 Twitter users, within a matter of minutes.
The couple who is rumoured to have broken up recently, is reportedly trying to get back together. Kohli’s tweet today has proved that not only is there no bad blood between the two, but that their efforts might be on the right track
