Days before the release of Karan Johar's film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' that stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, a theatre owners' body has decided to not screen films with Pakistani actors.
"We have decided that we will not screen these films (with Pak actors)," Nitin Datar of the Cinema
Owners Association said after a meeting this afternoon.
The decision comes amid tension between India and Pakistan over the Uri terror attack last month.
Last month, a producers' body in Mumbai passed a resolution banning Pakistani artistes from working in Indian films. In retaliation, some Pakistani theatre owners decided to stop screening Indian films.
